New Website Will Help 1,000's in Harford County!

Bel Air, MD, (October 24, 2022) –

Harford County-based business Social Progress Solutions has launched Harford Helps: a new public resource directory of charitable organizations in Harford County.

The directory comes as the final step in the launch of the Harford Helps website, which went live in September 2022. Harford Helps, found at www.HarfordHelps.com, is free to the public and features comprehensive listings of local nonprofits, resource providers, and agencies serving Harford County. The directory is searchable by category of donated goods, services provided, location zip code, and causes the organization supports. Its framework simplifies the process by which people donate, volunteer, or get help in the community.

“We wanted to make it easier for people to donate their goods and time,” said Social Progress Solutions cofounder Alicia Hamilton. Hamilton is also a founding member and the Executive Director of Found in Faith Ministries, a nonprofit organization that furnishes homes for people transitioning into permanent housing. “We saw a need when Found in Faith could accept certain donations but not others: donors wanted to know where else they could give, but because each situation was different, there was no one right answer.”

Harford Helps has three legs: Donate Harford, Volunteer Harford, and Resource Harford. Each addresses the importance of local civic engagement in support of the vision “One County, One Community”. It also has a News & Events section, with the events page sponsored by HarfordTV and the news page sponsored by Harford County Living.

The website also has a sponsorship section for anyone looking to support Harford Helps and its mission to serve Harford County. The directory launch is made possible by the founding patrons whose sponsorship offset the costs of setting up the website and database. Harford County Department of Community Services, Abil Solutions LLC, MNS Group, and Lift Up Jesus – Higher Together will have a permanent presence on the Harford Helps website as the individuals and organizations that made the free, public directory possible. Harford Helps still has room for eight more Founding Patrons to step up and support the directory.

“We’re excited to finally announce this to the public,” said Megan Ewing, Social Progress Solutions’ other cofounder. Ewing and Hamilton have worked together to build the website and database. “Harford Helps is a tool that has been missing in Harford County, it's going to allow people to connect to resources easier and allow organizations to receive the donations and volunteers that they greatly need.”
