Havre De Grace Autumn Festival: Live Music, Scarecrow Row, And Local Artisans Shine On October 8

HAVRE DE GRACE - The Havre de Grace Maritime Museum is gearing up for its highly anticipated Autumn Festival, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Sunday, October 8.

Spread across both the museum grounds and the adjacent Lighthouse Keepers House, attendees can anticipate a variety of attractions, including live music, a selection of vendors, and a sale featuring native plants and mums.

An outdoor concert at 2 p.m. showcasing Don Shappelle promises to be a festival highlight. Shappelle is renowned for his melodies that echo stories of the Chesapeake Bay shore, making for a musical experience sure to resonate with the local ambiance.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., visitors can wander through Scarecrow Row, admiring imaginative entries in the upcycled scarecrow and pumpkin contest. An added interactive feature allows attendees to cast their vote for their preferred creation in the “People’s Choice Award.”

Additionally, local author Lindsey Pope will introduce her recent work, “The ABCs of HdG: Fun and Facts In Havre de Grace, MD,” and children can look forward to an engaging storytime.

The festival also encourages youngsters to partake in pumpkin decorating while an array of artisans and craft vendors ensures a diverse experience for all.
