Unveiling Harford's Cultural Gems: New Arts Crawl Event Connects Bel Air And Havre De Grace

HARFORD COUNTY - Harford County's art scene is set to shine with a new collaborative event that links its two major cultural hubs.

The 1st Annual Arts Across Harford Gallery Crawl, scheduled for Sunday, September 17, offers a guided tour experience connecting Bel Air and Havre de Grace galleries. The event, a partnership between Harford Community College and the Havre de Grace Arts Collective, will run from 12 noon to 8 p.m.

Participants can choose between a paid bus tour or a free self-guided tour. The bus tour, priced at $75 per ticket, starts at Harford Community College, where free parking is available. Upon arrival, guests can explore the Art + Design facilities at Joppa Hall, followed by a bus ride that traverses featured stops in both towns.

Bus Tour Itinerary

  • 12 - 1 p.m.: Check-in and brunch-style reception at HCC's Joppa Hall. Ticket holders will be treated to a box lunch.
  • 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.: First stop at Bel Air Festival for the Arts at Shamrock Park.
  • 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.: Second stop at Harford Artists Gallery and Harford Plein Air Gallery.
  • 4 - 6 p.m.: Final drop-off in Havre de Grace featuring multiple galleries, including Riverview Gallery, Arts by the Bay Gallery & Co-Op, and a closing reception for the "Open to Truth & Change" exhibition at Gallery 220.
  • 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.: Nightcap reception at HCC's Chesapeake Gallery featuring the "1st Annual 100-mile Biennial Exhibition."

The evening will culminate at the Chesapeake Gallery for a nightcap reception with coffee, tea, and assorted desserts. Ticketed attendees can also look forward to food and beverages at key stops throughout the day.

Those who opt for the self-guided tour will be provided with a comprehensive map covering galleries and art hot spots in Bel Air, Havre de Grace, and the Harford Community College campus.

The event has garnered financial support from the Maryland State Arts Council, Harford County Cultural Arts Board, Harford County Government, and the City of Havre de Grace. Community volunteers and patrons have also offered their support.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will be earmarked for scholarships benefiting Harford Community College art students.
