HAVRE DE GRACE - This September, Havre de Grace will once again bring its fresh twist to the traditional lighted boat parades often associated with the holiday season and cold weather.

The third annual Havre de Grace Waterfront Festival on September 8-9 invites viewers to marvel at the gorgeous boats, visit local dining establishments, and listen to live music - all from scenic Concord Point Park.

The event's main attraction is the End-of-Summer Lighted Boat Parade, scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. on Friday. Celebrations continue on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with live musical performances, a wide array of food trucks, and vendor booths.

For families, the event offers entertaining activities for children and boat excursions. Additionally, attendees can witness the captivating stunts by The Pirates of the Colombian Caribbean, who will dazzle the crowd with their Wheel of Destiny and High Wire Acts.

The festival will conclude with a grand fireworks show set to start at 8 p.m. on Saturday. The pyrotechnics will illuminate the night sky with vivid colors and intricate designs, marking a spectacular end to the festival.

Boat owners wishing to join the 3rd Annual End-of-Summer Lighted Boat Parade can sign up online via the event's registration page or contact the Havre de Grace Visitor Center at 410-939-2100. The parade features a competition divided into five categories: Best Decorated Sailboat, Best Decorated Powerboat, Best Use of Lights, Most Original, and Judges' Choice.

Winners will receive not just the satisfaction of victory but also a trophy, a $50 Visa card, and four tickets to an event at the Star Centre.
