HARFORD COUNTY - A horse named Eeyore became tangled in the wiring of his fence Monday around 10 a.m. before being heroically rescued by the Level Volunteer Fire Company and Harford County Department of Emergency Services.

According to the Level Volunteer Fire Company, rescuers headed to the 2400 block of Edwards Lane, where they found Eeyore lying on his side.

After confirming that the power to the fence had been turned off, rescuers carefully covered the horse and cut him free of the wire.

Once freed, Eeyore was supplied with treats plus fresh and cool water. With help from the Harford County DES medic unit, he was finally able to stand and moved to his barn. The owner called a veterinarian for an evaluation.
