House Fire Engulfs Two-Story Havre De Grace Home: 65 Firefighters Battle Two-Hour Inferno

HAVRE DE GRACE - A massive fire consumed a two-story, single-family home in Havre De Grace on Friday, prompting a rapid response from the Level Volunteer Fire Company and four other local fire departments.

According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, firefighters from the Aberdeen Fire Department responded to a fire on Paradise Road North around 4:43 p.m. on Friday.

After arriving on the scene, firefighters were met with overwhelming smoke emanating from the residence, quickly calling for backup from other local fire companies.

More than five-dozen firefighters worked to battle the blaze, bringing it under control in just 30 minutes. However, the Office of the State Fire Marshal clarified that it took a total of two hours to extinguish the fire fully. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.

According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, homeowner Peter Annunziato first discovered the fire emanating from the exterior of the dwelling.

The property suffered extensive damage, with estimated losses amounting to $350,000. The State Fire Marshal's report states that the status of the smoke alarms in the residence remains unknown, and the house was not equipped with a fire alarm or sprinkler system.

The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
