HAVRE DE GRACE - Havre de Grace is set to become a hub of horror with the announcement of the inaugural SHOCK-O-CON, scheduled for August 26th & 27th at the STAR Centre.
This two-day horror convention promises to immerse attendees in a world of spooky entertainment, unique vendor offerings, and an array of performances and film presentations.
Shopping enthusiasts can anticipate a vast selection of both local and national vendors. Notably, The Last Toy Store will be present, along with Nevermore Designs known for their macabre art, and the spookily enchanting Baby Bat Beauty. The diverse lineup ensures that fans will find something to cater to their eerie tastes.
Apart from shopping, the convention has an intriguing list of activities and performances. Havre de Grace Haunts will provide chilling tours that bring to life the city's haunted history. Instant History Tattoo is set to thrill attendees with live tattoo demonstrations and a special flash sale.
The event is also set to feature several guest appearances. Among them are the critically acclaimed author Richard Chizmar, celebrated actress Debbie Rochon, and the creators of the Chainsaw Sally series, April and JimmyO Burrill.
While SHOCK-O-CON may be a horror fan's dream, families are also invited. Activities tailored for children include monster face painting, ghost tours of historic Havre de Grace, and a range of offerings from various food trucks.
An exclusive event is lined up for Saturday evening, titled the Shock-and-Awe Horror Drag and Burlesque Sideshow Extravaganza. An R-rated experience, it boasts top burlesque and drag performances, drink specials, and a chance for VIP on-stage seating.
Those keen on attending are advised to register by August 10th to secure an exclusive swag bag filled with SHOCK-O-CON goodies.
