Teen Suspect Charged As Adult In Aberdeen Shooting: Police Seek Additional Information

HAVRE DE GRACE - The Aberdeen Police Department has arrested a 15-year-old suspect in relation to the tragic shooting of a young woman in Aberdeen on Wednesday.

According to the police, officers responded to Hanover Street following reports of a shooting around 8:35 a.m. on Wednesday. Upon their arrival, a 19-year-old female was found lying on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound.

The wounded young woman was immediately transported to a trauma center in Baltimore, MD, where she remains in critical condition.

Police said that the alleged suspect, a 15-year-old male, was apprehended after fleeing the scene on foot to Valley Bottom Road.

According to police, the department's Criminal Investigations Unit took over the investigation and, after careful examination, concluded that the teen suspect had also attempted to shoot another female at the same location.

Fortunately, she escaped the incident uninjured. The victims involved in the incident are related to the suspect, police added.

The police have revealed that, after consultation with the Harford County State's Attorney, the juvenile suspect is now facing multiple charges as an adult. These include Attempted 1st and 2nd Degree Murder, 1st and 2nd Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and several weapons-related charges.
