HARFORD COUNTY - Flags across the county will fly at half-staff from sunrise to sunset Friday to coincide with the memorial service held for Abingdon Volunteer Fire Company Officer Linda Dousa.

Dousa served as assistant EMS chief and was a lifetime member of the fire company.

"I am saddened by Linda Dousa's passing. Linda touched countless lives over 45 years as an emergency medical services provider and mentored generations of new volunteers. Before and during her 14 years as the EMS assistant chief with the Abingdon Volunteer Fire Company, Linda played a critical part in shaping the Abingdon Fire Company's EMS department. Linda and her husband, Bill, were incredible partners in service to their neighbors. My prayers and thoughts are with Bill and the family," Harford County Executive Bob Cassilly said.

According to Dousa's online obituary, the 65-year-old passed away on April 24. She loved to camp, travel in her motor home, go on cruises, and read. She embarked upon more than 30 cruises. She is survived by her husband, William Dousa, Jr.; stepson, Todd, and his wife, Beth Dousa; a brother, Timothy Foster; and nieces, Lauren Foster and Kimberly Foster.
