Havre De Grace Receives Federal Funding For Public Housing Projects

HAVRE DE GRACE - The Havre de Grace Housing Authority will receive more than $178,000 for the construction of public housing, according to the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (DHCD).

The funding is a part of the $34.8 million in public housing funds provided by the DHCD’s Public Housing Capital Fund Formula Grant Awards.

“Providing access to high-quality, affordable housing is critical in every community in our state. Having the assurance of a place to call home gives Maryland workers and families the ability to seek greater opportunity and prosperity,” the Maryland Congressional Delegation Wrote in a statement about the funding.

The money will go toward designing, building, and modernizing public housing projects in Havre de Grace.
