HARFORD COUNTY - The Harford County Department of Housing and Community Development has announced a free housing fair for potential homebuyers from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 18 at the Harford Community College student center, 410 Thomas Run Road in Bel Air.

Attendees will learn about the essentials of home buying from a group of industry professionals. Topics will include affordability, borrowing, and credit; getting pre-approved for a mortgage; how to select a realtor; the purchasing process, including home inspections and title reviews; and responsibilities once you become a homeowner.

“I encourage those at any stage of the home-buying process to attend our workshop on Saturday, March 18. The department of housing and community development and partners will provide many helpful resources to participants,” Harford County Executive Bob Cassilly said.

Presenters will include Harford County HUD-certified counselors and professionals in real estate, lending, and home inspections.

All presenters will be available to answer questions after the presentation. Attendance at the Housing Fair also meets the certificate requirements for individuals in Harford County’s Housing Counseling Program. The fair is open to anyone looking to purchase a home in Maryland, including first-time homebuyers, those who have not yet started the process, and anyone buying a second home who is looking for a refresher. Attendees must preregister here.
