Havre De Grace City Elections 2023: What You Need To Know

HAVRE DE GRACE - An election to choose three members of the City Council of Havre de Grace will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.


How to register:

Registration Forms are available at the following locations:

  1. Havre de Grace City Hall.
  2. The Havre de Grace Public Library.
  3. Harford County Board of Elections (133 Industry Lane, Forest Hill, MD 21050
  4. Phone: 410-638-3565.)
  5. Forms can be downloaded from the internet: www.elections.maryland.gov or from the City website: www.havredegracemd.gov.

All forms must be received by April 11, 2023, 5:00 p.m. at the Harford County Board of Elections Office, 133 Industry Lane, Forest Hill, MD 21050.


How to vote:

In-person voting will occur on Tuesday, May 2, at the STAR Centre (former Havre de Grace High School Gymnasium, 700 Congress Avenue). Polls open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m.

All citizens age 18 or older who have resided in Havre de Grace for at least 21 days are eligible to vote in the 2023 municipal elections.


Absentee ballot information:

If you wish to vote by mail (absentee ballot), you must complete an application to receive a mail-in ballot. Absentee ballot applications can be found at the Harford County Board of Elections website (online download) or City Hall (in-person pick-up).

If you would like your absentee ballot mailed to you, you must return the application to the Harford County Board of Elections Office (133 Industry Lane in Forest Hill) by April 25 at 5:00 p.m.

You can also email the completed application to (elections@harfordcountymd.gov) or fax the completed application to (410-638-3310) by 11:59 p.m. on April 25.

If you would like to pick up your absentee ballot in person, you can return the completed application to City Hall and receive a ballot. Your ballot must be returned to City Hall by May 2, 2023, at 5 p.m.


Other information:

The public is invited to witness the Logic and Accuracy testing of the voting equipment on April 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Harford County Board of Elections Office.
