Cecil College launches Manufacturing Technician Certificate

NORTH EAST, Md. – In its continuing commitment to providing educational pathways for in-demand careers, Cecil College has created a new certificate program focused on entry-level positions in high-tech manufacturing environments. The Manufacturing Technician Certificate was developed in partnership with Northrop Grumman to meet the growing demand for technicians.

This program can be completed in just two semesters. Students are introduced to the requisite skills and knowledge that support continued training and allow the student, upon completion, to start working in entry-level  positions in the industry.

This program features courses in introductory technical mathematics, statistics, Auto CAD fundamentals, and computer concepts. Final coursework includes a job shadowing experience as this certificate lays the groundwork for a student who may be interested in pursuing an engineering degree in the future.

Students will also learn to communicate effectively and professionally in their writing, apply basic mathematical analysis techniques, and use their computer skills for CADD, drafting, and programming.
