ABERDEEN - According to police, 28-year-old Tavon I. Harvey was arrested in connection to a sexual assault in Aberdeen on Friday.
According to the Harford County Police Department, on the morning of December 30, Harvey sexually assaulted a 50-year-old woman in the unit block of North Law Street in Aberdeen. Later that day, Harvey was arrested near the police department on Franklin Street in Aberdeen.
In a press release, the department said they suspect the crime was not a random act of violence.
Harvey was charged with first-degree rape, second-degree rape, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, perverted practices, and false imprisonment. He is being held without bond at Harford County Detention Center in the Bel Air North.
Harford County police, Aberdeen police, and the Criminal Investigation Division and Crime Scene Processing Unit of the Aberdeen Police Department are investigating the incident.
