HAVRE DE GRACE - The Annual Duck Drop is returning to Concord Point Park this year.

For over 20 years, the Havre de Grace community has kept this special maritime new year's celebration alive and well.

At midnight on December 31, a foam duck adorned with Christmas lights will endure a 100-foot drop from the Susquehanna Hose Company's ladder truck.

According to Mayor Bill Martin, this event is the times square of Havre de Grace.

"It's an amazing Havre de Grace tradition," Martin told the Aegis. "It's our own little Times Square."

The event is free and will feature live music starting at 10:30. The duck will be lit at 11:00 p.m.

A fireworks display has been scheduled after the duck drop at midnight but may be canceled due to inclement weather.
