Two Fatal Crashes Shut Down I-95 On Wednesday Morning

HAVRE DE GRACE - Two crashes Wednesday morning on Interstate 95 in Harford County left two dead, According to Maryland State Police.

Officers responded around 6:45 a.m. to I-95 north at Maryland Route 543 in Belcamp for a report of a five-vehicle crash.

Investigators said a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse was headed north on I-95 in the left lane when it crossed into oncoming traffic and hit two tractor-trailers on the left shoulder. The Traverse was then spun back into the road, where it was struck by another vehicle.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Caprice N. Davis, 27, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to police, another fatal accident occurred less than two hours later on I-95 north at Maryland Route 24 in Edgewood.

Investigators said a 2021 Subaru Forester was traveling north on I-95 when the driver rear-ended a dump truck. The forester driver died on the scene.

Police have not yet identified the victim.

I-95 North was closed for around five hours yesterday due to the crashes. The cause of both crashes remains under investigation.
