3,700-Plus Took HdG Trolley In July: City Of Havre de Grace

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD —  More than 3,700 passengers used the Havre de Grace trolley, known as The Tide, during July, according to city officials.

The city released usage data for the new trolley system, which debuted in late May.

Here are the numbers:

• July: The trolley operated for 217 hours. It carries 3,712 passengers. There were no traffic safety issues associated with the vehicles, officials said.
• June: The trolley operated for 174 hours. It carried 2,835 passengers, and it had no traffic safety issues.
• May: The trolley operated 42 hours. It had 438 riders and traveled 351.5 miles.

Havre de Grace has four electric trolleys that run on weekends and during special events from Tydings Park to the Lock House and back. The loop is about 3.5 miles and takes 25 minutes to complete.
