ReplyIf she has posted bail, that means she has been arrested and processed and therefore is in the Maryland Judiciary System, which is public record. I see nothing wrong with publishing the name. It says she has been charged, not found guilty. Andto me, this is countywide news...you would read it in the Record and the Aegis, why not in all Harford Patch's. Sounds to me like journalists just doing their job.

On the article Plans for New Hospital Complex Progress

ReplyAmin, when I first heard of the project the I believe the initial plans were to turn it into a physical rehab facility along the lines of Kernan Hospital, or to make it into a combination physical rehab facility/nursing home. I think that would be a welcome use of the building, especially if they can put it on par with Kernan.
However, those plans could have been rumor, or since changed. -

ReplyDo you really think they would use permanent paint? Do you trolls have nothing better to complain about? I agree with George...lighten up. The only way it's gonna cost money is if the city gets it panties in a bunch and wants it removed...which is not showing any pride and a little over reactionary. I mean, heck...we still have the Lafayette Trail debacle to look at. I'd rather look at these logos!

ReplyThe rumors were many, varied and non specific. And were everywhere. Therefore the message addressed that specifically. No need to give specifics of wild rumors and put an idea into a whack jobs head to go do something he hadnt already thought of. Come on folks, these people are trained for this stuff...they dont do this on the fly and off the cuff. If you dont like the job they are doing, get yourself elected/hired/appointed to do it.

ReplyI cant believe you folks are serious. Do you not realize how many unfounded rumors are received and reported daily in our area schools? No? That is because they are investigated and deemed unfounded. And no, you dont have the right to hear about every one of them. And yes, many lead to charges. Because the schools and the police do their job. This instance they received more than the normal volume of threats and rumors, therefore it spread to the student body, and then home. So they had to address it, and did so very well if you ask me. Had theyignored it like most as an off the wall threats, which is what these usually are, you all would have wanted someones head!!! If you dont think your child is safe, find an alternative for their education. Mine went to school today because the school showed me that they have the most effective security system/procedure In place, they received some rumors, investigated and found them to be just that...rumors, and called and emailed us all the results of that investigation to quell our fears. Job well done in my book. So until they develop clairvoyance and can see the threat coming, I take what they are doing as best practice and pray my kids stay safe. Maybe you should too.
And find something else to do but spend every moment bashing and trolling on the Patch. -

ReplyAlso, they would have to consider that students from Somerset Manor and even Bayview abd Grace Harbor who choose to walk would be even more tempted to cross the Amtrak line...unless a much beefier fence were put up. It has been several years since I was in that school, but even then it was an issue. Put it in what is basically their backyard, the temptation will be enormous.

ReplyIts illegal to walk in the travel portion of the roadway especially when there is a sidewalk! How is this heavy handed? The officer probably stopped to let her know, she gave the officer a hard time, the officer detained her to issue a citation and in the process of conducting a safety pat down, most likely found the contraband. TEXT BOOK POLICE WORK. I was involved in law enforcement for 10 years and I know the procedures. Don't break the law and your name won't be on here.
