I have lived in Havre de Grace since 1984, occasionally moving to some other place for a few months in order to 'taste' variations. I was on my way to Corpus Christie, Texas when I stopped at the Crazy Swede and talked to two sailors. They convinced me this was a good city in which to enjoy water oriented activities and they were right. I raced sailboats for six years, was 1st mate on the friendship for two, and have worked at the city marina. I was responsible for surveying the erosion on Tydings Island thereby having rip-rap installed. I am an artist of oil and acrylic paintings for many years and have written and published a book called, 'Simon and the Pirates'. I was also a house painter by trade and contracted many home renovations in Havre de Grace and Darlington. I have owned several sailboats as well as powerboats, and smallboats and currently have a 23' Kells. I am a Vietnam Veteran and use the VA twice a week.      My wife was born and raised here and she and I raised three children here. All of which are doing well in other parts of the country. One works for Pepsi, Another is becoming a pharmicist, and one is in the Air Force. Children are more important than anything in this world. Spend time with your child, listen to them, give them good advice but do not 'lecture'. Lead by example.....
