Turkey Trot 5K Shirts Will Go Fast

The t-shirts given to runners are a hot commodity, a Bulle Rock spokeswoman said.

Brenda Desjardins says the t-shirts at the Bulle Rock Turkey Trot 5K are a hot commodity. Residents in the neighborhood scramble to get their hands on the limited edition duds, which are complimentary for the first runners to register for the Thanksgiving morning race. Desjardins, the spokeswoman for the Residences at Bulle Rock, said she sees people wearing their shirts at community events months after the race. This year's race is filling up fast—with 250 runners signing up through Friday. The fifth annual race will be capped at 500 runners. Are you running in the Bulle Rock Turkey Trot 5K? Tell us in the comments ...

Turkey Trot 5K Openings Filling Up

The annual Bulle Rock Turkey Trot 5K is held Thanksgiving morning.

If you're planning to run off the turkey before you eat it, the window to register is closing quickly. The Bulle Rock Turkey Trot 5K will welcome 500 runners—and only 500 runners—this Thanksgiving morning. Some 250 runners have already registered, according to Bulle Rock spokeswoman Brenda Desjardins. In order to keep the race from becoming too crowded along the course and to maintain the feel of a hometown race, organizers are limiting the entries to 500 runners. The event also includes a 1-mile walk, which has an unlimited number of spaces. Runners can register online. Entries are $30 the day of the race. Proceeds go to the Susquehanna Hose Company. T-shirts are available to the first 300 to register. The race begins at 9 a.m. …
