Car into Revolution Street Building, 1 Injured

Susquehanna Hose Company Chief Scott Hurst said the injuries were minor.

On Monday afternoon a vehicle crashed into Vision Associates on Revolution Street, according to Susquehanna Hose Company Chief Scott Hurst. After the crash was reported at approximately 12:20 p.m., first responders evaluated the driver, who suffered minor injuries and did not require transport, Hurst said. According to Hurst, there was minor damage to the building.

My husband and I were behind the truck when it was on Revolution and turned into Vision Assoc. The driver ran over the curb so my husband decided we would go up to the corner and go to the next entrance. We heard the 'crunch' noise when they hit the overhang. Glad everybody was okay.   more ›

Truck Fire in Havre de Grace Under Investigation

The fire on Cooley Mill Road was reported Thursday morning.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a vehicle fire that broke out in Havre de Grace Thursday morning. A passerby reported that the 1998 Dodge Ram on the 100 block of Cooley Mill Road was on fire at 5:01 a.m. Thursday, according to a statement from the fire marshal's office. Nobody was in the vehicle at the time of the fire, the fire marshal's office reported. Approximately 10 firefighters from the Susquehanna Hose Company and Level Volunteer Fire Company put out the blaze within five minutes, according to the statement. The estimated damage to the vehicle was $2,500 and the loss of contents inside the truck was valued at $500, according to the report. The blaze originated in the engine compartment and the cause …

2 Boaters Rescued From Susquehanna Flats

A boat began taking on water Saturday afternoon in the northern Chesapeake Bay area.

Officials rescued two boaters from the Susquehanna Flats after their boat began taking on water Saturday afternoon. Crews from the Susquehanna Hose Company and Aberdeen Proving Ground responded around 6:30 p.m. and rescued two adults, according to Susquehanna Hose Company Chief Scott Hurst. Susquehanna Hose Company Expands on Market Street

Construction has been going on at Division 3 for the past month.

Heavy machinery—other than fire engines—has been hanging out by the Susqehanna Hose Company's Division 3 for the past few weeks. The fire house on Market Street is expanding, according to Susquehanna Hose Company Chief Scott Hurst. "We are adding a bay for water operations," Hurst told Patch. The Hose Company's swift water rescue team will have some new digs when all is said and done. The area now under construction off Fountain Street will include storage, bunk rooms and an area for cleaning equipment, Hurst said.

Perryville Apartment Complex Fire Leaves $3K in Damage

The blaze was confined to a laundry room, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal.

No one was injured in a fire Monday morning that started in a laundry room at Concord Apartments in Perryville, the Maryland State Fire Marshal said. Before 5:30 a.m. Monday, crews from Perryville Volunteer Fire Department, the Susquehanna Hose Company and Perry Point Fire Department were called when a fire alarm activated on the 500 block of Concord Drive, according to a statement from the fire marshal. A delivery person from the Cecil Whig discovered the fire that originated in the laundry room where the sprinklers and an alarm activated, the fire marshal said. UPDATE: Body Recovered From Aberdeen Proving Ground Pond

Emergency personnel were alerted to a possible drowning on post Wednesday.

UPDATE: (7:18 p.m.)—A person died on Aberdeen Proving Ground after an accident at an unexploded ordinance range pond Wednesday afternoon. Around 2:30 p.m. Susquehanna Hose Company's dive team was notified of a possible drowning on post by Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire Department, the Susquehanna Hose Chief Scott Hurst said Wednesday. The team arrived at the scene shortly before 3 p.m. to assist, Hurst said. The person involved died and the body has been recovered, according to a release from the U.S. Army Garrison public affairs office. The victim's name has not been released pending family notification. No further information was available as of post time.
