Second Grocery Store Coming to Havre de Grace
Save-a-Lot will return after departing approximately 15 months ago.
Save-a-Lot is returning to Havre de Grace. The grocery store chain, which vacated a location at the corner of Market Street and Congress Avenue in mid-October 2010, is opening a new store at the location of the former Acme at the intersection of U.S. Route 40 and Lewis Lane. The store could open this spring, though Meghan Simmons, manager of economic development for Havre de Grace, said there is no timetable for an opening. There's also no set number of jobs coming to the store, but Simmons said the previous Save-a-Lot employed 14 people. How do you feel about Save-a-Lot coming to the former Acme location?
