The Harford County Sheriff's Office is investigating the infant's death.
Detectives with the Harford County Sheriff's Office are investigating after a 9-month-old went into cardiac arrest and died Tuesday. The death is being called suspicious by police. Around 1:33 p.m. deputies were called to a home in the 900 block of Scannell Court in Joppa to handle a report of a child in cardiac arrest, according to a release from the sheriff's office. When deputies arrived, paramedics with the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company were treating the 9-month-old and the 19-year-old mother, the release states. Both mother and child were taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air for treatment where child was pronounced dead at 2:18 p.m. The mother, whose name has not been released, was listed in critical condition …

UPDATE (2:30 p.m., May 31)—A 21-year-old Joppatowne man was arrested Wednesday and charged with first degree murder after an alleged case of cannibalism and decapitation of a man who had been missing since Friday. Alexander Kinyua, 21, of 535 Terrapin Terrace in Joppatowne, has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault and second-degree assault, according to a press release from the Harford County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday night. According to charging documents, Kinyua—a Morgan State University student—allegedly told detectives that he killed Kujoe Bonsafo Agyei-Kodie, cut him up with a knife then ate part of the dead man's heart and brain before hiding body parts in his basement. Havre de Grace defeated Patterson Mill and Joppatowne Thursday night.
The Warriors swim team improved to 11-1 overall Thursday, defeating Patterson Mill and Joppatowne soundly. The Havre de Grace boys team swept the Huskies and Mariners, while the Warriors girls defeated Joppatowne and lost to Patterson Mill.
