Havre de Grace celebrated on July 1. What are you doing today?
Happy Independence Day from Havre de Grace Patch! Havre de Grace has already thrown its big celebration. But if you don't have plans, there are plenty of other celebrations around today. In Bel Air, the parade kicks off at 6 p.m., with fireworks to follow after 9 p.m. Perry Hall has a big celebration, too, including the Warriors Marching Band in the parade. Havre de Grace celebrates Independence Day on July 1.
It's one of the biggest days of the year in Havre de Grace. The city celebrates Independence Day a little early this year: July 1 to be exact. The annual Independence Day parade begins at 2 p.m., sending a variety of floats, bands, vehicles and performers down Union Avenue, from Legion Square to Tydings Park. The grand marshals for the parade will represent the Maryland Army National Guard 1297 and 1729. The following bands are set to play in the parade, according to havredegracejuly4.org: At dusk—approximately 9:30 p.m.—a display from Fireworks Extravaganza will cap the week-long celebration. Darlington holds the first independence celebration of the year—this year on June 23.
Why wait until July when you can throw the party now? That's the mindset in Darlington, where the annual independence parade and fireworks kick off about a week before traditional July 4 celebrations. Darlington will hold its parade beginning at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, with fireworks launched from the soccer field at Silver Park beginning at dusk.
