Man Charged With Stealing Soda From McDonald's

The man also was charged with drug possession.

A Havre de Grace man allegedly stole soda from McDonald's on repeated occasions, and was found to be in possession of drugs when police arrested him Saturday. Nigel Vanness Johnson, 18, of the 800 block of Garfield Road, was arrested and charged with theft and possession of drug paraphernalia during an incident at 11:28 p.m. on Aug. 4, Havre de Grace police said. Johnson allegedly filled an empty cup with fountain drinks on Aug. 2, and ran from the store when asked how he planned to pay for the drink. On Saturday, Johnson performed the same routine, but was detained by on-site security until officers arrived.

From the Havre de Grace Police Department: ——— Garfield Road, 800 block, 5:39 a.m. on Aug. 6. An 18-year-old male assaulted a 13-year-old following an argument over sitting on a mat. Police initially responded to Harford Memorial Hospital to speak with the victim, who was referred to the Harford County Court Commissioner’s Office to place charges. Congress Avenue, 500 block, 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 5. The tire of a vehicle was flattened overnight by a drill bit. The victim awoke to find the drill bit in the tire after parking the vehicle the night before. Police have no suspects. Vancherie Court, 100 block, 5:42 p.m. on Aug. 5. A suspicious vehicle was left running for several hours in front of a residence. The property owner checked both the …

Galvez Jifez Sheppard, 34, of the 100 block of Weber Street, was arrested on a warrant through the Harford County Sheriff's Office for failure to appear. Webb Lane, 400 block, 11:16 p.m. on July 28. From the Havre de Grace Police Department: ——— Redhead Way, 300 block, 3:06 p.m. on July 21. Two caps were stolen from the bumper of a 2008 Saab. Police have no suspects and the investigation is ongoing. Juniata Street, 800 block, 11:11 p.m. on July 20. Robin Michele King, 22, of the 2000 block of Ruffs Mill Road in Bel Air and Michael William Behrens, 23, of the 100 block of Woodlawn Drive in Forest Hill were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. Both were arrested during a traffic stop. Commerce Street, 700 block, 4:38 p.m. on July 20. The year sticker was stolen from the license plate on a 1995 Ford truck. From the Havre de Grace Police Department: ——— Lewis Street, 600 block, 8:05 p.m. on July 18. Two sisters, ages 21 and 25, were involved in a verbal argument when one bit the other. No serious injuries were reported. The siblings were referred to the Harford County Court Commissioner’s Office if either wished to press charges. Water Street, 600 block, 10:44 a.m. on July 18. Cash and checks valued at more than $1,000 were reported as stolen from Price’s Seafood. The incident likely took place in the evening before the call was placed to police. From the Havre de Grace Police Department: ——— Bloomsbury Avenue, 100 block, 11:29 p.m. on June 20. Prescription medication and binoculars, items with an approximate combined value of $30, were stolen from a vehicle. The vehicle was not damaged. Police have no suspects. Chesapeake Drive, 1000 block, 12:51 p.m. on June 20. A black cat and prescription medication valued at $80 were stolen. Robert Carl Armstrong, 24, of the 800 block of Erie Street was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
