Driver Reportedly Asleep when Charter Bus Crashed into I-95 Guardrail

Multiple people went to Harford County hospitals following the incident.

Nine people were taken to area hospitals after a crash Friday on Interstate 95 that involved a charter bus, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Fire and EMS Association. The bus was headed southbound when it ran off the road between the Havre de Grace and Aberdeen exits on I-95. Patients were taken to four hospitals in Harford, Baltimore and Cecil counties, Gardiner said. Forty-eight teachers from Newark, DE, had been passengers on the bus and those who received medical treatment had injuries that were "minor in nature," WBAL TV reported. I was on this bus! It went off the side of the road! A co worker had to get out of the seat to shake the driver up! We then flew to the left side of the bus' tires and then he tried to over correct his steering that he sent us to the right side of the tires! We almost flipped and died! Harford Roads Closing for 1.3M-pound Transformer Transport

Exelon Power is transporting a pair of transformers to its power station in Delta, PA.

Several roads and bridges throughout Harford County will be closed at various times the from June 27 through June 30 for an oversized load escort. Exelon Corporation is transporting a pair of 335-ton transformers to its Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station in Delta, PA, from Havre de Grace. At various times throughout the four-day trek, there will be closings on portions of Maryland Routes 155, 22, 136 and 165 along with single lanes of Interstate-95 both southbound and northbound. The closings are expected to occur from about 8 p.m. or 10 p.m., until about 5 a.m.  Maryland State Police will stop all traffic on I-95 for about 15 minutes at about midnight Monday.
