US Route 40 Reopened after Perryville Crash

Maryland State Police said that a pedestrian was struck before 10 p.m. Tuesday.

All lanes of Route 40 were reopened Wednesday morning after a crash Tuesday night shut down eastbound traffic at Jackson Station Road. A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at approximately 9:45 p.m., Sgt. Lanier of the Maryland State Police North East Barrack said. Route 40 eastbound at Jackson Station Road would remain closed for an undetermined amount of time, Lanier said just after 10:30 p.m. "We are still in the preliminary stages of the investigation," Lanier added. A crash team was on site investigating the incident, in which one vehicle struck a pedestrian, Lanier said. He told Patch that there were no patients requiring medical transport.
