Route 40 Ramp At MD 715 To Close Next Week

A ramp near Aberdeen Proving Ground is set to close on June 28.

The ramp from eastbound U.S. Route 40 to southbound MD Route 715 in Aberdeen is scheduled to close on June 28. The ramp will remained closed for about a year, leaving commuters to detour left across U.S. Route 40 West, using a temporary traffic signal, and onto a temporary interchange to MD Route 715, according to a statement from the State Highway Administration. MD Route 715—or Short Lane—leads to the primary entrance onto Aberdeen Proving Ground. The closure is part of an ongoing, $17.8 million project to improve the interchange following the BRAC expansion on Aberdeen Proving Ground.
