The matriarch of the Ripken family was abducted last week and the investigation is ongoing.
Police have today released video and plan to release a composite sketch of the man suspected of abducting Vi Ripken last week. The video, released by investigators, shows the suspect at a retail establishment in Anne Arundel County. Later in the day police are expected to release a composite sketch of the suspected abductor based on eyewitness accounts. Lt. Fred Budnick with the Aberdeen Police Department wrote in an email Tuesday that no specific motive has been indentified in the alleged abduction. "This is still considered to be a forced abduction not related to any medical or health conditions," Budnick wrote. The year-old Harford County Traffic Task Force has lead to more than more than 6,800 traffic citations.
Harford County has a traffic problem—and local law enforcement want the public to know they're taking it seriously. A main part of their efforts include the Harford County Traffic Task Force—involving the sheriff's office, Aberdeen Police Department, Bel Air Police Department, Havre de Grace Police Department and the Maryland State Police (Bel Air and JFK Barracks). While it has been in place on a trial basis for about a year, a memorandum of understanding made it official on Tuesday. In an effort to combat the high rate of traffic fatalities and accidents in Harford County, local law enforcement formed the unofficial traffic task force in 2011 to target certain areas for enforcement and raise driver awareness. A Havre de Grace man is in the hospital as a result of the incident.
A Havre de Grace man was taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after he was allegedly stabbed by his son in the Aberdeen Ollie’s. Aberdeen police said Joseph Thomas Waters IV of the 400 block of Plaza Court in Aberdeen began arguing with his father in the bargain outlet store when he allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed 59-year-old Waters III at about 3:45 p.m. Waters IV, 19, has been charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, concealing a dangerous weapon and using a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure. He is being held in the Harford County Detention Center on $500,000 bail. He is scheduled to have a bond review hearing Thursday afternoon. Waters III is in stable condition at Johns Hopkins …
