The annual event is set for August 7 at the Target store in Aberdeen.
Target is bringing the Aberdeen community together next month. The local store is hosting National Night Out from 5 to 8 p.m. on August 7. The nationwide event is held the first Tuesday in August. "The ultimate goal is to increase the partnership between the community and public safety," said Target's Stephanie Pettigen, who is coordinating the event in Aberdeen. Local law enforcement will participate in the event, which will feature informative displays and interactive activities. Target stores in the Bel Air area will also hold events. In Havre de Grace, communities hold block parties. Three-course meals will cost $20.12 or less during the third annual event.
The tastiest week of the year is here again. Harford County's Third Annual restaurant week will run from June 4-16 at a variety of popular establishments around the county. Restaurants will offer prix fixe menus featuring three-course meals for $20.12 or less. See the list of participating restaurants with menus here. The Aberdeen IronBirds will have a variety of new food options by opening day.
Entertaining baseball and family fun isn't all that's on tap when the Aberdeen IronBirds open the 2012 season next month. Ripken Stadium will have a variety of new food choices for fans when the Orioles short-season Class-A affiliate opens on June 20. The IronBirds rolled out two of their new food options—a burrito bar and a chicken wing bar—to members of the Aberdeen business community during the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Tuesday. Aside from the new bars—both of which were met with high praise Tuesday on the club level at the ballpark—the IronBirds will add Conrad's Crabs, The Charred Rib, Seasons Pizza and Rita's Ice. The Havre de Grace cupcake shop is going on the road.
Ice cream trucks are cool. They're even cooler when they're stocked with cupcakes. Sweet Devotion—which has only grown in popularity with its menu of lunch items—is going mobile, setting up shop with a converted ice cream truck that will serve its popular treats. Gov. Martin O'Malley has taken to Pinterest, the image-friendly social media site, to "highlight Maryland entrepreneurs and small business owners" throughout the state—including Harford County. Nominations can be pitched with 10 images on the governor's Pinterest page. Bill Bateman's Bistro is located on U.S. Route 40.
It reads like an April Fools prank. Apparently it's legit. Bill Bateman's Bistro is offering free burgers for the month of April to the 141st burger-buyer Sunday. According to an event on Facebook, Bateman's is attempting to set a new Sunday record by serving 141 burgers. Burgers are half-price on Sundays at the Havre de Grace location. The consumer of the record-breaking burger will get one burger per day for the entire month when dining in and purchasing another entree. Bateman's daily hours are listed as 11 a.m. to close.
