Harford Sheriff: 15 Charged in Marijuana Smuggling Operation

The Harford County Sheriff's Office partnered with agencies from Baltimore to California in the investigation.

A Havre de Grace man is one of 15 people charged in a two-year drug smuggling investigation, the Harford County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday. The Harford County Task Force filed charges against 15 individuals—from Bel Air, Middle River, Havre de Grace, Aberdeen, White Marsh, Towson, Edgewood and in California—after extensive operations that included wire-tapping and undercover police work, the sheriff's office said. In addition to the arrests, the investigation led to the seizure of 140 pounds of marijuana, 20 guns, 14 vehicles and more than $140,000 in cash, police said. Handgun Stolen from North Washington Street Business: HdG Crime

The Havre de Grace Police Department provided the following information.

Revolution Street, 800 block. 5:11 p.m. on May 20. A drug transaction in a vehicle was reported. Police said the vehicle was gone when they arrived. Ontario Street, 1100 block. 11:50 a.m. on May 20. An apartment and car were reportedly vandalized in a domestic dispute in which an ex-girlfriend poured bleach on a man's sofa and keyed the side of his vehicle. The man was referred to the commissioner. Saint James Terrace, 700 block. 1:01 p.m. on May 19. Approximately $400 worth of Adderall was stolen from a house. N. HdG Driver Charged with DUI after Railroad Incident

The Cecil County Sheriff's Office provided the following information.

A Havre de Grace woman was charged with driving under the influence, among other traffic violations, after her vehicle was found stuck on the railroad tracks in Port Deposit Sunday, said the Cecil County Sheriff's Office. At 2:47 a.m. on May 19, a sergeant found a Pontiac parked on the railroad tracks with the engine running, according to a statement from the sheriff's office. The vehicle was approximately 200 feet south of the railroad crossing at Center Street, the statement said. Police said that a witness helped authorities locate the suspect, who reportedly thought she was turning onto Main Street in Port Deposit when she entered the train tracks. Harford Sheriff's Deputy Pleads Guilty To Bribery

Todd E. Johnson pleaded guilty Monday in Harford County District Court.

A Harford County Sheriff's Office deputy was sentenced to three years probation Monday after pleading guilty to bribery. As a condition of the plea, Deputy First Class Todd E. Johnson resigned from the sheriff's office, according to a release from the Harford County state's attorney's office. Johnson, a seven-year veteran of the sheriff's office, gave Final Notice Recovery and Location of 4501 Curtis Avenue in Baltimore unauthorized access to police databases. The business is desribed as a towing company that repossesses vehicles for banks and creditors, according to a release from the sheriff's office. Johnson used his agency issued computer to look up tag numbers for the company in an effort to locate the vehicles and owners and used the…

Sheriff: 2 Harford County Employees Charged with Gasoline Theft

The public works employees allegedly used the county's gas pumps to fuel their personal vehicles more than 40 times.

Two Port Deposit residents employed by Harford County were charged with theft and scheming after they were suspected of repeatedly stealing gas from Scarboro Landfill, the Harford County Sheriff's Office said in a statement Thursday. Government officials reported to the sheriff's office that Tracy L. Sexton, 43, and James E. Doran, 46, were using the county fuel pumps at the landfill to gas up their personal vehicles, police said. Both individuals worked for the Harford County Department of Public Works; Doran was employed at the waste disposal center in Street and Sexton with the division of highways, according to Robert Thomas, Harford County Government spokesman. Tires Slashed on Union Avenue: HdG Crime

The Havre de Grace Police Department provided the following information.

Union Avenue, 300 block. 6:36 a.m. on May 16. Two tires were slashed. It was the second time this happened to the same victim. Police did not have any additional information. Pennington Avenue, 700 block. 5:44 p.m. on May 15. Potentially threatening verbal statements were reported. Union Avenue, 500 block. 4:43 p.m. on May 15. A wallet and keys were reported stolen from the hospital. Police said the complaint was unfounded.

Man Injured in ATV Incident Near Webster Road

A helicopter was on the way to pick up the 19-year-old at approximately 6 p.m. Monday.

A 19-year-old was in serious condition Monday evening after an incident involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) near Havre de Grace, according to a Harford County public safety official. At approximately 6 p.m. Monday, a helicopter was on its way to the Webster Road area to pick up the man for medical treatment, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association. Information about the extent of the man's injuries and the circumstances leading up to them was not immediately available, Gardiner said. All Lanes Reopened after Tydings Bridge Crash

Lane closures were in place for more than an hour after a tractor-trailer rolled over Monday afternoon.
