You can't just say there are a record number of injuries and leave it that. In reality the amountRead More of fireworks sold increases each year. The number of injuries per 100,000 pounds of fireworks sold is down dramatically since 1980. http://i.imgur.com/5vDu6Bl.png

The only thing I know of that is legal in Maryland are illegal aliens

The article above seems misleading. I have always been led to believe that only ground based itemsRead More are allowed in Baltimore County. No exploding types. Now I'm confused.

I pulled a 3 foot shark out of the water a couple days before the attack. It was struggling in theRead More surf. A lifeguard helped me save it and get it safely back into the ocean. I talked to Fish & Wildlife here in Delaware and they said they think it was probably a juvenile sandbar shark, but don't think it was the same shark that attacked the teen because it was probably ill. But, ironic that it was a couple days before the attack. The shark did not try to attack me when I saved it. I pulled it in by its tail in about 5 feet of water. I have a pic I can send in to you if you want it.

Starter fuel? Good tips... but why not "consider using a chimney instead of starterRead More fuel". Works fast and without lighter fluid.
Bryan Harz May 27, 2014 at 03:47 pm
I use an electric charcoal starter. Requires no fluid and no need for match-light style charcoal.Read More My dad used one of these my entire childhood, so I've always thought they were the norm. Every time I use it everyone says "what's that"?? It works great, you can buy them almost anywhere, and they are cheap. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Brinkmann-Electric-Charcoal-Starter-812-9137-S/202519662

My Fun Town was Betterton Beach. My grandparents (Capt. & Mrs. Charles Drennen) started takingRead More the family there in the forties. My mother has lots of fond memories. Me too! The whole family would go to Betterton Beach. There was a amusement pier with an old rickety haunted house ride and carnival games. A wonderful old Bingo Hall. Restaurants, a soda shop where we always bought cherry phosphate sodas. Sometimes we went by car, sometimes we went in our parents boat "The Dead Cat". Wonderful hotels and bed and breakfasts. Lots and lots of fun until 1972. The hurricane "Agnes" hit. That's quite a memory for all of us. The beach is still there but most of the places remembered are long gone. The grand hotel is there, but re-purposed. Our old bed & breakfast is a run down apartment building. We went back just last year. I never saw the dilapidated times of the 80's. I did remember how beautiful it was instantly. It was a clear day I could just barely see where Havre de Grace is. I remember as a child looking in to the distance from the same spot. In those 1960's days my pop pop, who was a Chesapeake Bay pilot, would sometimes be taking a freighter ship from Baltimore to the C&D canal and we could see the ship from the beach. I miss those days and cherish all the incredible fun family memories from Betterton Beach. Victoria Brown Swanson

As a resident of Seneca Pointe and coordinator of a Havre de Grace Green Team Community Garden, IRead More can't thank SHCO enough for their commitment to our community, in this instance, specifically for the AED's and water for the gardens. As a runner, I will continue to support SHCO by running the Turkey Trot each year, since those funds provided the AED's for the Seneca Pointe community and several others. Thank you to all the volunteer firefighters in Havre de Grace!
