Hatred towards Modell is understandable, but obviously actually acting on those feelings and in suchRead More a juvenile manner is completely messed up.
MG42 July 24, 2014 at 11:54 am
He used a catheter? Does that mean it's fake? Why didn't he just pee on it if that was his goal?
Honeygo Hal July 24, 2014 at 12:02 pm
As a former Colts' fan I get the anger that Cleveland fans may have. But even a cursory look at theRead More difference between the Modell family and the owning family of the Colts would reveal quite a difference. Art Modell left the name and all the history in Cleveland for the current team to use - in Indy, not so much. The Modell family has embraced the Ravens market and is highly thought of here as a result - in Indy, there are still issues with the family. I hope they throw the book at this guy for such a disgusting act.

Wow! Amazing woman! I hope that we in Maryland can fete her somehow, regardless of the outcome inRead More Las Vegas (not that I doubt she will run away with it there too!).
Bob Higginbotham July 18, 2014 at 10:36 am
That was fun watching and rooting for her. She really is fantastic.
Noreen Dalisera July 18, 2014 at 01:47 pm
Awesome! She made it look so easy and seemed to get through it easier than most of the men:) WillRead More be rooting for at the finals.

Loser team. Loser players. The crows will suck again this year.

Hey Coach you should stick to coaching and stop clowning around until you take home the trophy.

Indeed. Watching a soccer game is much more important than keeping a job.

If you think traffic is bad now, it will be 10 times (or more!) worse then. Security alone will beRead More a nightmare. Let one of the other cities have it.
Woodside Park Bob June 14, 2014 at 11:44 am
I agree that having the Olympics here would be a disaster -- lots of inconvenience and costs to theRead More public and mainly only the hotel and restaurant business would benefit. Not one cent of tax money should go toward bringing the Olympics here.

I'm intrigued bit cautious. If something happens to remake the area around RFK it could be aRead More substantial legacy. The region already has a lot of the other event infrastructure and facilities so the games would be dispersed.

Susan S. B. I have two granddaughters who are cheerleaders and I would like to see as muchRead More protection for them especially when you see your granddaughter being hoisted into the air and then dropped back down to the arms of her other teammates. It is exciting, but it is also scary to watch. We are proud of both of them.

Great to see another Ripken, and a hometown boy, carry on a wonderful family tradition in the greatRead More sport of baseball. Now if we can just lure him over to the O's where he belongs.

Another low character bozo hand-picked by a classless organization. And they're constructing aRead More statue to permanently glorify an illiterate turd who was charged with two counts of murder. It's another great day to be a Steelers fan.

Rice is going to skate just like Ray Lewis did years ago. If he gets fined by the league the RavensRead More will take care of it. At least I have fond memories of the Baltimore Colts to fall back on. They were role models, were part of the community and played football for the love of the game.
Robert May 23, 2014 at 04:51 am
What's wrong with you people? Sentencing guidelines for first time domestic violence offendersRead More rarely encompass jail time, especially when the victim sustained no serious injuries. On top of that, the actual assult wasn't captured on video, and therefore could be difficult case to present to a jury.
Crime Solver May 23, 2014 at 09:47 pm
@ Robert, While I do think the punishment fits for first time offender with such a promising future,Read More I just wanted to make a note how the victim clearly is not using her brain by taking his hand in marriage right after this incident occurred as the timing sounds too convienant to be anything other than to prevent justice being served. Hopefully they overcome this and live great future together but when it happens again I hope she don't cry wolf or vice versa.

I went to Delaware Park to watch (and bet) on the Preakness. Maryland should be ashamed of itselfRead More for the outdated and run down conditions of Pimlico and Laurel Park. The facilities at Delaware Park are modern, accommodative and clean. As to why Pimlico and Laurel Park got rid of the infield tote board, it was a big mistake. The tote board is a traditional part of a track's environment. Instead, both Pimlico and Laurel Park only has a giant screen in the infield for relay information to the bettors. The screen's graphics has a bluish tint and the numbers are hard to read. Delaware Park's infield screen is clear, picture perfect and the numbers are very easy to read. And it also has an infield tote board. I could on and on about the embarrassing conditions of Pimlico and Laurel Park.

Parents ruin sports..
sportsnut July 14, 2014 at 07:39 am
Alan I agree. Parents coach to get their kids and kids friends a leg up. Kids are choosen too basedRead More on parents and kids being friends. Take AAU and All-Stars and positions in each sport. Parents coach because they want their kid in prime positions, kids are friends with certain kids or because a family does not like someone but the kid has talent not playing. You need "out of area" coaches to come and determine if a kid is "that good" to be at the next level not "locals" whom coach because that is the only way the kid will get playing time.
CowDung July 23, 2014 at 10:20 am
sportsnut: Seems like a perfect opportunity for you to get involved in coaching... If nothingRead More else, becoming a coach will give you a voice in the league to lobby for equal playing time for all kids, and rotation of positions--particularly at the lower levels.
The University of Maryland joins the Big Ten Conference in July.
amark May 4, 2014 at 07:52 am
This move was made out of greed by an athletic director and univ president who had no loyalty to theRead More acc and were looking to dig out of a financial hole that the athletic dept was in. MD in the big 10 is a joke especially geographically. Edsall and Turdgeon are dragging down the football and basketball programs further. If anything MD should have moved to a smaller conference like the CAA where they can be competitive.
Bill Samuel May 5, 2014 at 01:23 pm
Well it's good they spend less on athletics, but IMHO universities should get out of the business ofRead More professional (falsely called amateur) athletics entirely. Universities should be for academics. It's disgusting how coaches get salaries far more than faculty members or even university presidents, and allowed to do things to make money on the side which would be properly regarded as scandal in any other department.
John May 18, 2014 at 09:43 pm
