<p>The Hatem Bridge carries motorists traveling on U.S. Route 40 over the Susquehanna River.</p> <p>The four-lane bridge spans approximately one mile between Havre de Grace and Perryville, with a toll meeting eastbound travelers on the Perryville side of the bridge.</p> <p>The bridge passes over Garrett Island in the middle of the Susquehanna River.</p> <p>It is operated, policed and maintained by the Maryland Transportation Authority.</p>
