For 80 years, Goll's Bakery has been cooking up old-fashioned "eats and treats" for Havre de Grace residents -- all made from scratch. This third-generation, family owned bakery lures you in with the unforgettable, wafting scent of something tasty in the oven. Originally, the owners were bakers in Germany. They immigrated to Philadelphia and came to Havre de Grace on their honeymoon and never left. They opened the bakery in November of 1930. As Susie Goll puts it, this is "the bakery people used to remember when they were little."

Going to Goll's Bakery on a Saturday morning reminds me of when I was a child and would accompany my Grammy (God bless her soul) to the bakery for fresh donuts. Memories like these just like bakeries like Goll's are indispensable. I am so fortunate to live in Havre de Grace and to be able to visit gems like Goll's. I bring my kids and let them pick out their favorites. Usually the messiest donuts on the shelf, but hey, to be kid again. How wonderful.
I LOVE everything about Goll's. My favorites are the small pies and party eclairs, which are just the right size when you have a craving for something sweet. I am so happy that Goll's chose Havre de Grace as their home and hope the bakery will be here and stay the same for many many years to come.
Every small town has its hidden gems. Havre de Grace has many. While businesses tend to evolve over the years Goll's Bakery remains as we remember it growing up. Goll's is what a small town bakery should be. When you walk in the door you are hit by the aromas of fresh baked goods. No matter what you choose you can count on it being good. This is not a fancy bakery, they do not try to be. This is nothing like the big doughnut chains. Everything is handmade with care and love. Golls is simple quality as it should be. The Goll family has been part of Havre de Grace since my Grandparents were here, always giving back to the community. If you have not discovered Goll's Bakery come downtown and give it a try. But, not today as they are closed on Wednesdays.
The best marshmallow cream filled doughnuts ever. We treated our seasonal employees to these everyday during the month of December.
I also grew up eating their donuts and was a special treat on Sat. mornings...glad to see they are still in business after all these years..
I grew up eating there donuts, So if you are in the area you have to try them.

Golls dos have the best Eclairs in any town. Their pies are so good and the Cheese cake well you will just have to try it yourself, I can't eat it all by myself. Good Stuff
