The annual Mardi Gras parade will roll through the Havre de Grace Main Street district Friday night, and Tourism Manager Brigitte Peters said: "Havre de Grace is cleared and ready," after the event was postponed from Fat Tuesday due to snow.

Sponsored by the city of Havre de Grace and the Havre de Grace Recreation Committee, the parade starts at 6:30 p.m. Friday. It will be the seventh annual Mardi Gras Parade for the city.

Parade route is Bourbon Street --> Washington Street --> St. John Street.

"Floats, costumed characters and a feast of beads" will be on tap for the affair, Peters said.

Beforehand, the Havre de Grace United Methodist Church on Congress Avenue will host a traditional Shrove Friday dinner from 5 to 7 p.m.

Afterward, restaurants and bars around town will offer specials and music.

Coakley's will have $5 Hurricanes and Cajun dishes on the menu plus a costume contest at 11 p.m. Friday.
