Winter is dealing Maryland a one-two punch with the coldest temperatures in 20 years after last week's storm that dropped more than 7 inches of snow in Harford County.

Dangerously cold air from Canada will blanket the region Monday, on the heels of Sunday's freezing rain.

How cold are we talking?

"Bitterly cold conditions are expected behind an Arctic front Monday through Tuesday night. Record cold temperatures are expected across the area. This air mass may turn out to be the coldest in 20 years. Dangerously low wind chills are also expected during this time," according to the National Weather Service.

Gales are likely Monday night and could stick around Tuesday on the Chesapeake Bay, the weather service reported.

Here’s the forecast for Havre de Grace:

Monday—Rain and snow showers before noon, with little to no accumulation expected. Temperatures in the 30s and 40s, falling to 5 degrees overnight with wind chill values as low as -10. Winds up to 35 mph.

Tuesday—Sunny with a high of 14 degrees and a low of 8 degrees. Wind gusts may be greater than 30 mph, and it will feel like -14 with wind chill.

Wednesday—Sunny with temperatures in the mid 20s.

Thursday—Mostly cloudy. Highs rebound to the upper 30s.
