In 2011, the Warriors competed in the state championship, falling to Mountain Ridge at the same turf field where they'll play this weekend.

The Panthers concluded the fall 2012 soccer season with a 12-3 record, according to coach Daniel Kiesl. Perryville won the Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference Susquehanna Division during the regular season.

"The final whistle of the regional championship game saw Perryville on the wrong side of a 0 to 2 score," Kiesl wrote in an email Tuesday evening. "The team fought hard, but in the end it wasn't their night."

Havre de Grace, which played a challenging regular season schedule in the UCBAC Chesapeake Division, is seeking its first boys soccer championship since 1926.

The Warriors are planning a bus trip to the state tournament.
