Harford Community College is poised to receive $11 million from the state, Delegate Mary-Dulany James announced Wednesday.

Harford Community College provides the lowest cost tuition of any higher education institution in Maryland and I am proud to bring back every penny," James said.

The allocation will be part of Maryland's FY15 operating budget, representing an increase of $690,000 or 6.3 percent, James said.

The money will go toward operational costs like hiring construction workers to complete work at Darlington Hall and for hiring professors and administrators, James said.

"I know how important it is that half of the funding for these projects comes from the state budget, and I work hard every year to guarantee the growth and development of this great institution of learning," James said.

“Without the great work of the Harford Community College, too many hard-working adults would not get the training and education necessary to flourish in this tough economy," James said. "I hope to bring back more funding for the Harford Community College for years to come."
