Havre de Grace City Council honored two longtime volunteers and recognized four outstanding students during Monday's meeting at City Hall.
City Council also advanced three pieces of legislation—voting in favor of a lease agreement with the Chamber of Commerce, an understanding with the National Park Service and a grant application to help provide state-funded support for a development in the city.
The city recognized Joe Kochenderfer and Rene Lambert for their years of service to the city. Both men recently resigned positions on city commissions or committees.
Council also recognized four young residents as students of the month: Havre de Grace Elementary School's Sydney James, Meadowvale Elementary School's Madeline Ransford, Havre de Grace Middle School's Joel Martin and Havre de Grace High School's Dylan Schantz.
Each resolution was approved by unanimous vote.
The meeting opened with a public hearing on a proposed change to the city's building code, and also included a presentation involving the leadership of Aberdeen Proving Ground.
