A Resolution concerning Community Legacy Grant Funding (Councilmember Gamatoria)

A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF HAVRE DE GRACE, MARYLAND PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 23A OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND IN SUPPORT OF THE APPLICATION TO THE MARYLAND DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOR THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION SEEKING FINANCING FOR A COMMUNITY LEGACY PROJECT IN THE CITY OF HAVRE DE GRACE, MARYLAND; THIS RESOLUTION SUPPORTS THE REQUEST IN THE AMOUNT OF: 1) $200,000.00 FOR THE OPERA HOUSE RENOVATION PROJECT; 2) HAVRE DE GRACE MAIN STREET TO CREATE AN INTERIOR FIT OUT PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $40,000.00; AND 3) THE FACADE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $40,000.00, WHICH PROJECTS ARE TO BE FINANCED EITHER DIRECTLY BY THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND OR THROUGH OTHER DEPARTMENTS OR AGENCIES OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND.

Can we ever again expect the Patch to actually cover a local meeting and provide a detailed report on the evening, rather than just cherry pick an occasional subject to report on? When was the last time the Patch attended or commented on a Planning Commission meeting? The few local readers the Patch has left would really appreciate local news. Posting an agenda is not journalism. Being there and interpreting what happened is, and that's what made the original version of the Patch worth following.
