A woman who claimed she was defending herself from an assault by her boyfriend was charged with murder Tuesday afternoon, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say Tanasha Siena, 35, called 911 about 8 p.m. Monday and told dispatchers she shot her boyfriend, reports WJZ TV.
The shooting victim, George Moore, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene with gunshot wounds to his head and upper body.
The shooting happened in the 3100 block of Mahonia Way. The female caller told 911 operators that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend. During the assault she reportedly shot him, according to police spokesperson Edward Hopkins.
Deputies discovered the body inside the home.
Siena was taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
After treatment, Siena was charged with first- and second-degree murder, authorities said. She is being held without bond at the Harford County Detention Center.
