Stephen G. Smith, 50, of the 1800 block of Wye Mills Lane in Bel Air, was pulled over in the 3400 block of Churchville Road on Feb. 3 and cited for various traffic offenses, including drinking an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle, according to online court records.
He turned himself in last Thursday for violating his probation, according to The Aegis.
Smith was on probation after being convicted of drunk driving in a crash that injured five people on MD Route 24 in July 2012.
As a result of the charges, he was fired from his job at 98 Rock, where he had a 20-year radio career, WTOP reported.
He was sentenced to one year in the Harford County Detention Center, with six months suspended since he participated in a 28-day treatment program.
Since his release, Smith said he has been living in a recovery house in Millersville in Anne Arundel County, according to The Aegis, which reported that he was ordered Friday to be held without bail until his trial. The assistant state's attorney reportedly said Smith presented a "danger to the community" because of his history.
Smith has a trial slated for April 28 regarding his violation of probation.
