Former Baltimore radio DJ "Stash," who served six months in jail for drunk driving in a sentence that ended last year, is back at the Harford County Detention Center.

Stephen G. Smith, 50, of the 1800 block of Wye Mills Lane in Bel Air, was pulled over in the 3400 block of Churchville Road on Feb. 3 and cited for various traffic offenses, including drinking an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle, according to online court records.

He turned himself in last Thursday for violating his probation, according to The Aegis.

Smith was on probation after being convicted of drunk driving in a crash that injured five people on MD Route 24 in July 2012.

As a result of the charges, he was fired from his job at 98 Rock, where he had a 20-year radio career, WTOP reported.

He was sentenced to one year in the Harford County Detention Center, with six months suspended since he participated in a 28-day treatment program.

Since his release, Smith said he has been living in a recovery house in Millersville in Anne Arundel County, according to The Aegis, which reported that he was ordered Friday to be held without bail until his trial. The assistant state's attorney reportedly said Smith presented a "danger to the community" because of his history.

Smith has a trial slated for April 28 regarding his violation of probation.

This guy used to host events at bars for 98 Rock all the time, but when he gets in trouble because of the habits that he picked up working at a radio station that heavily promoted the consumption of alcohol and who sent him out to bars to promote THEIR radio station ALL THE F***ING TIME, they fire him. Which is another thing that makes me sick,.. the overpromotion of alcoholism as being just "the thing to do" and "soo f***ing cool",.. and when you come out of bars and drive away it's like shooting fish in a barrel for the cops, it's a set-up, a giant game that's being played that's rigged to suck you in. Steve is my friend, but he has gotten himself in quite a bit of trouble and is finding that the habits he picked up while living that lifestyle are really hard to put down,. and that the place where he dedicated twenty plus years of his life to doesn't give a s*** about him. You know,. this whole industrial prison industry counts on that fact that most people don't have a whole group of friends who get together and have that "one friend" to act as a designated driver,. and also, who really enjoys having to wait and pay for a ride home from some crackhead taxi driver who's cab smells like puke?

Just because Stash got caught numerous times doesnt make him any sorse than those of us who happen to be fortunate that we can drive better than him after we leave a bar.. Some can stop drinking before their hammered, others cant.. Ive fallen victim to that and so has many of you reading this right now..ive met Stash many times.. He has children (including a special needs child) that he loves, and cases like this are proof that alcoholism is a disease..not comparable to cancer, but a disease no matter how serious its viewed as..why elsedo you think so many good people have made so many bad decisions after drinking? Its horrible, and i pray he finds a treatment program that can actually work..Stash does not deserve pity,he deserves HELP.

Look It's Very Simple...You Drink...You Drive...You Get Caught...You Go To Jail...And How Many Times Has Stash Been Caught...I Don't Care Who He Worked For, Or How Many Special Needs Kids He Has...He Is Not Above The Law...And How Many People Was Hurt In The Accident He Caused Because He Was Drunk...Perhaps He Will Run Someone You Love/Care About Down....Then What Would You Say...Give Him Another Chance...SMH
