Sorry to hear that. My thoughts + prayers go out to the family. Crossing over from Harford Co. to Cecil Co. we have had many close calls from folks pulling out of 222 from Port Deposit. I hope everyone is ok, and I hope no-one involved was celebrating this beautiful spring day to hard at the Union Hotel.

On a fundraiser ride with a brief stop at union. A beautiful day until the sharp turn and dip at the end of the bridge. Don't want to say a name for fear of uninformed family but RIP brother. None of the names are listed here.

I was the fifth car to pull up in traffic. Looked like two motorcycles and a silver jeep liberty. Didn't look good. Response time seemed a bit slow to me.
Greg P April 30, 2012 at 03:39 AM
The story says Delaware State Police responded. Can we assume that it was the Maryland State Police? Either way, an unfortunate tragedy.

When I was there I saw Maryland State Police... Baltimore sun has the story up....
Robert Spicer April 30, 2012 at 04:19 AM
the jeep liberty and the one motorcycle was both family members of mine. They are both ok, the other guy not sure about.
Old Skool April 30, 2012 at 11:22 AM
It was probably a Delaware State Police helicopter if they went to Christiana.

I was at the begining of the line of stopped traffic going northbound. Props have to go out to the emergency room nurse who happend to be on the scene. I heard her comunicating to the emergency team on the other end of the phone as she tended to the injured rider. Response time did seem slow; the downed rider was very lucky to have that guardian angel at the scene. From where I stood, she's the hero of this story. My prayers are with all involved. God bless!

I really wish The Patch would give a bit more details when a story is posted. I am not saying give names. But a better description of what happened would be better. I think I will be going to ExploreHarford.com from now on. They had the story written where you understood what happened.
