It was weather for a duck.

The inaugural was held Saturday morning at the City Yacht Basin in , hours after blanketed the Upper Chesapeake Bay area.

More than 40 people plunged into the frigid waters of the via a recently-revamped launch ramp.

Air temperature barely reached the low-30s.

Some dunkers went completely underwater, others went most of the way in. While some ran for the cover of heated tents, a few brave souls mustered up the courage for a second dunk moments after coming out of the icy water.

Some dunkers raised more than $500 in pledges to the Susquehanna Hose Company, the beneficiary of the charity event.
