Two armed men forced entry into a Havre de Grace home Thursday morning, assaulted two people inside and demanded money, Havre de Grace police said.
At 1:19 a.m. police received a call that a home invasion was in progress on the 400 block of Village Drive.
Police said that two men, each armed with a handgun, broke into the residence through a back door and demanded money. At least one of the occupants of the house was asleep and awakened by the break-in, according to the report.
The armed men assaulted two adults inside the home before leaving with items of an undisclosed amount. When police arrived, the victims had visible injuries but refused medical treatment, according to the report.
Police said it was unknown how the suspects left the scene or in what direction.
Havre de Grace K-9 officers attempted to track the suspects but their search yielded no results, according to Jeff Gilpin, spokesman for the Havre de Grace Police Department.
Gilpin said that police believe this was an "isolated incident."
The victims said they did not know the suspects, police said.
The following are the suspect descriptions as reported by police:
- White male, 6'3" to 6'5" and weighing 170 to 185 pounds; wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
- Black male, 5'6" to 5'8" and weighing 150 to 165 pounds; wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a mask.
