Oakleys Stolen, Mysterious Thud: HdG Police Blotter

The Havre de Grace Police Department provided the following information.

Various items including electronics and a pair of sunglasses were reported stolen from a van parked in front of the owner's house on Wednesday.

A laptop, Oakley sunglasses, iPod with charger, black-and-gray backpack and various items of clothing were taken the van in the 300 block of Lewis Street. The theft occurred sometime between 2 a.m. and noon on Wednesday. To break inside, the suspect(s) partially opened the passenger-side window.

In an unrelated case across town, a home in the 1300 block of Lewis Lane was vandalized, reported at 7:28 p.m. on Monday.

The homeowner reported she was watching TV with her husband around 8 p.m. on Sunday when she heard a "thud." The next morning, she found the aluminum siding in front of her home damaged. The cause of and cost to repair the damage were unknown.

Other incidents from the police blotter are listed below.

Assault: A fight between two females was reported in the 200 block of Superior Street at 6:21 p.m. on Monday. When police arrived, there was no fight.

Several credit cards and $10 were reported stolen from a residence in the 800 block of Ontario Street at noon on Wednesday. Police said the suspect(s) entered through a back window that was unlocked.

Domestic: A father and son were arguing over smoking in the 500 block of North Adams Street when the son punched his dad in the chest. Nobody was injured in the assault, which was reported at 8:27 a.m. on Friday. The two were referred to the commissioner.

Thefts, from Restaurant to Rite Aid

A man and woman each ordered a meal and a drink at a restaurant in the 400 block of Saint John Street, then left without paying their bill. The incident was reported at 8:50 p.m. on Monday, and the estimated loss was $34.81.

Theft from a bank account was reported in the 100 block of Bloomsbury Avenue at 11:16 a.m. on Saturday.

Automotive tools were reported stolen from a business in the 900 block of Pulaski Highway at 4:22 p.m. on Friday. The owner said the items had been taken over the past year, and police advised taking the matter to the commissioner.

A woman set off the alarm at Rite Aid after taking several items without paying for them. Police did not know what was taken as a result of the theft, which was reported in the 1000 block of Pulaski Highway at 12:20 p.m. on March 6.

Traffic Citation: A woman was cited in the 800 block of Pulaski Highway at 7:18 p.m. on Sunday for driving on a suspended license.

Vandalism: A company van and the back door to a business in the 700 block of Revolution Street were vandalized, reported at 1:09 p.m. Friday.
