"The Department of Emergency Services is aware of the problem with the weather notification system and they are working to fix the situation at this time," the Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association reported at around 10:30 a.m.
By that time, Havre de Grace Patch had received six calls from Harford County's 410-588-5700 number with nobody on the other end.
At 11:15 a.m., the problem may have been fixed; calls from the number delivered a recorded message from Emergency Manager Rick Ayers stating that the "highest threat for Harford County will be between noon and 6 p.m....Take shelter if necessary."
The Emergency Management office issued an apology via Facebook: "Currently, our Blackboard Connect CTY alert system is experiencing some technical problem, we have reached out to the vendor and are trying to resolve this issue. We apologize for the multiple calls without voice recording and thank you for your patience."
