Authorities are investigating a 7-Eleven holdup that occurred Sunday night in Aberdeen, the second armed robbery at an Aberdeen 7-Eleven this week, police said.

At 8:05 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to the 7-Eleven in the 600 block of South Philadelphia Boulevard in Aberdeen for a reported armed robbery, Aberdeen police said.

A man had come into the store, showed a handgun and announced a robbery, according to the report from the Aberdeen Police Department. The man left with an undisclosed amount of cash and may have gotten into a white Ford Taurus parked in the vicinity, the report said.

The suspect was described as a black man with what appeared to be a plastic bag covering his face, according to the report. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, black pants, dark hat and gloves, the report said.

Investigators are working to determine if Sunday night's robbery is related to another incident at a nearby 7-Eleven, according to police.

In that instance, the 7-Eleven in the 700 block of West Bel Air Avenue was robbed at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, police said.

A man entered the store, displayed a handgun and announced a robbery before jumping over the counter and taking an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, according to police.

He ordered two clerks to the floor and hit one with the gun, then left the area on foot, police said.

The female clerk who was hit refused medical treatment, according to police.

The suspect was described as a 6' tall black man weighing 200 pounds who was wearing a ski mask, puffy gray jacket, blue jeans and yellow shirt, police said.
