Does anyone know how/where the transformer will start its journey in Havre de Grace? Historically, these huge loads have been brought in by barge and off-loaded somewhere along the water at the north end of town. Is that the case this time? Properly timed, it might also be another chance to see the railroad swing bridge opened.

I've reached out to some local authorities on that but I didn't get a great deal of confirmation on anything yet. It sounds like the transformer will be moved from one barge to another off Perryville, then taken up the river under the bridge. Sean

The barge transporting the transformer went up river last week. (Thursday, I think.). They opened the Amtrak bridge to let it through. The transformer was then offloaded at the Vulcan Quarry, from where it will begin its journey by road.
